Who Holds the Oscars Odds Advantage for 2024?

While Barbie has been the center of attention this year and boasts a higher number of cinema visits, Oppenheimer seems to take the lead in the race for prestigious awards. At least if you look at the odds favorites for the most coveted categories at the upcoming Oscars.

Scheduled for March 10/11, the 96th edition of the Academy Awards will unfold at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Even though the official nominations will be announced on January 23, speculation is already in full swing, shaping the odds provided by betting companies.

“As we eagerly await the official nominations and the grand ceremony on March 10/11, Oppenheimer stands out as the frontrunner in all the prestigious categories. Followed by Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon”, says Robin Olenius Head of PR Betsson.

Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster, Oppenheimer, is a favorite for both Best Director and Best Picture. Additionally, Cillian Murphy is the top contender for Best Actor, and Robert Downey Jr. is expected to secure Best Supporting Actor, both for their roles in Oppenheimer.

The Best Actress category is anticipated to be claimed by Lily Gladstone for her role in Killers of the Flower Moon, while Danielle Brooks is the favorite for the Supporting Actress award for her performance in The Color Purple.

“While Barbie may not leave empty-handed, it is not among the top favorites to clinch the most prestigious awards. The closest chance lies in the Best Director category, where Greta Gerwig offers an 8.00x return on a potential win”, says Robin Olenius.
